Please Support Vic Evan’s Family
Victor “Vic” Evans the longtime singer with Andy Hamilton’s Blue Notes died on the 3rd November aged 90. He was singing almost to the end and in addition to dealing with their loss his family have discovered that the funeral plan they paid into has failed leaving them with £5000 pounds to find for his funeral in January 2023.
Please help the family if you can. Already a benefit gig is lined up at Silvershine Jazz Club for later in December and people are coming up with new ideas all the time.
1. I have designed this souvenir In Memoriam booklet featuring some of the best pictures I have taken of Vic in the last tree years. I’m paying to have 100 copies printed and will sell some direct on here as well as giving copies to Silvershine to sell. If you buy on here I will pass on the income in full less postage and packing. If you buy and collect from Silvershine all the money will go to the family. The booklet is 20 pages A5 + Cover. Silk material through out Insides 130gsm. Cover 300gsm. Saddle stitched.
I’ve set the minimum price at the usual £7 including P&P – the minimum price when you collect is £5 but please consider adding a voluntary extra donation.
TO BUY first select and Add to Cart the booklet at £7 then if you want to donate more select and Add to Cart the optional donation which initially shows as £1. Then when you View Cart you can select the donation in multiples of £1. You can simply donate without buying the booklet.
2. The Silvershine Club are putting on the Celebration and Benefit Gig on Friday December 16th at 8.30pm with a line up of Blue Notes players plus Guests. You will be able to bid in an auction to support the family as well as make direct donations and buy the In Memoriam booklet. More information at the Silvershine website.
3. Prints. I’m going to donate a couple of prints to the auction at the gig and will ask other photographers if they will do the same. I will also look at further prints for people to buy.
4. Other ways to help. Please share the information on social media and at clubs and venues.
Below is a video of the Blue Notes made during lockdown by Birmingham Jazz at Sansom Studios which features Vic Singing in one of his last recordings. Birmingham Jazz are supporting this gig and it’s on their website.
