New York 2012

In April 2012 I had just contacted David Attie’s family about his photography archive and his early self portrait techniques that had influenced Handsworth Self Portrait.  So I immediately arranged to meet them in New York and spent a fascinating week researching and organising David’s archive with his son Eli and widow Dotty. In between I walked arounds armed only with my iPhone and found a flavour of NYC in the action on the streets and intersections. Converting to black and white seemed to suit the feel of the place.
