Grunwick Dispute 1978

The Grunwick Dispute ran from 1976 to 1978. Grunwick was a film processing plant in North London. I went there to attend one of the solidarity demos. The dispute was notable because it was led by a woman Jayaben Desai and as Wikipedia says: “A 2016 BBC radio documentary, Grunwick Changed Me, described how the involvement of white, working class men in support of Asian women strikers was seen as a turning point in race relations in the United Kingdom.” The picture of me was taken by Derek Bishton with my camera.
